"Takeover Pit" Rules

Pit Marshal Authority
All Pit Marshal and staff instructions must be followed immediately. Failure to comply will result in removal from the event without refund and may result in a ban from future events.​

No Impaired Driving
Drivers may not be impaired by alcohol, marijuana/cannabis, prescription medication, or any substance that affects judgment or reaction time, regardless of legal status. Any driver suspected of impairment will be removed.

One Vehicle at a Time
Only one vehicle is allowed in the burnout pit at any given time. Tandem, side-by-side, or chase burnouts are not allowed.

One-Minute Exhibition Limit
Each participant is allowed one (1) minute per exhibition. Drivers must stop immediately when instructed.

Driver Only – No Passengers
No passengers are allowed in the vehicle at any time. One driver only.

Tire Safety
Drivers must stop before that tires become unsafe. Tire blowouts, fires, or excessive flying debris are not allowed.

No Barrier Contact
Intentional contact with K-rails or barriers is prohibited, including rubbing, scraping, or leaning with any part of the vehicle.

Vehicle Condition Requirements
Vehicles will not be allowed into the burnout pit if any of the following are present:

Cracked or broken windshields or windows

Exposed steel cords, tire bulges, or sidewall damage

Hanging or dragging exhaust components

Loose or hanging body panels

Any body panel touching the ground\

Facility Speed Limit
The facility speed limit is 5 MPH outside of the burnout pit. Burnouts, donuts, drifting, or reckless driving outside of the designated pit area are strictly prohibited.

Helmets
Helmets are not required but are recommended for vehicles equipped with a roll cage.
​
Any violation of these rules may result in immediate removal from the event without refund and may lead to a ban from future Street Legal Dragway or Street Legal Takeover events. Staff and Pit Marshal decisions are final.
